Usage:

Designed to withstand the rigorous demands of both heavy domestic and contract upholstery, this vinyl is ideal for areas of extreme heavy usage such as busy maternity units. MumStuff would certainly recommend the vinyl covering in such busy environments where staff may not have the time or opportunity to care for a fabric chair and are unable to immeadiately remove any stains to maintain its good looks.

The large selection of colours encompasses modern neutrals, warm classics to vivid bright colours and there should be one to match your decor.

Vinyl Specification:

* Flame retardant to Crib 5. BS5852 ignition Source 0, 1 & 5. BS 7176 Medium Hazard.
* Tested to withstand in excess of 100,000 Martindale (fabric) rubs.
* Suitable for Infection Control areas (NaDCC Compatible).

Further technical data can be supplied on demand together with the Fire Retardancy Test Certificates.

The Kensington Breastfeeding Chair (Vinyl) - Healthcare Use

The Kensington Breastfeeding Chair is designed especially for breastfeeding mothers after extensive research and development by Dr Lynn Jones a Principal Lecturer in Furniture Design.

Ergonomic Design:

Dr Lynn Jones interviewed, drew, photographed and video taped women while they breastfed. Using this information Dr Lynn Jones created the Breastfeeding Chair in a ergonomic shape offering:
* a low seat to ensure feet are placed squarely and firmly on the floor, keeping the body weight evenly distributed and the spine straight.
* Gentle 'wings' to suggest a feeling of an intimate, enclosed space for mother and baby.
* A gently tilted seat, which ensures the mother's back is flat against the chair back, keeping the spine perfectly supported and removing the need for cushions or pillows.
* integral, inflatable lumbar 'cushion' which provides perfect support for the lower back.
* generously wide seat with 'flared' sides to allow an older sibling to 'perch' during breastfeeding.

Additional Footstool:

Useful for increasing seating in a feeding/ quiet room, Dr. Lynn Jones has also designed a footstool to compliment the chair. It is approximately 55 cm diameter x 36 cm height.

The delivery charge on the Kensington Breastfeeding Chair in all fabrics is included in the price for deliveries to mainland UK. Please contact us before purchase if you wish to have the Breastfeeding Chair shipped to UK islands (including Northern Ireland).

The Kensington Breastfeeding Chair is handmade to order and dispatched from our local manufacturer, so please allow approximately 3 weeks for delivery (but it's usually sooner!). We can usually speed delivery up in an emergency!
