Thanks I am so pleased youbare raising awareness of this. My mother in law lost a baby to this disease. -
Thanks for the strep b testing kit, speedy delivery too, thanks -
The testing kit came really quickly, was easy to use and I had the results sent to my phone within 3 days, would definately recomend. And great to have the peace of mind. Andrea - Northumberland
Midwifes Attitudes to Strep B I bought a test (still to do) & spoke to a Midwife at my 34 week check. Her attitude was appalling! She told me I'm complicating my labour by doing this test & bringing all sorts of problems on! I told her it's my decision and I'm not risking the health of my baby - think Midwives need more info! Tina - Surrey
I would advise all mums to be to take this test as my sister was tested for strep b during labour and 2 days later was told she had it after her daughter was born. The hospital didn't detect strep b in the baby, so was'nt treated for it and died when she was 10 days old.It was an awful time. Jenny - Leicester
Thank You... I heard about this infection when i was pregnant with my first baby a few years ago and was informed i am a carrier. I am now pregnant with my second baby and the NHS will still not test me for it so once again i am doing it myself. I am very grateful to mumstuff that make it easy to find and order. GBSS testing Thank you for increasing the awareness and making this test available. If you test positive (I did with my first born and have just ordered the test for my second) do not be fobbed off by the hospital. Go in as soon as you can and start the antibiotics. You may know more about it than they do! Caroline - West Sussex
This test was easy to use and the results were back from the lab really quickly. My result was positive, so armed with this information I have been able to agree a treatment plan with my GP and midwife. Thanks, mumstuff, for making it so easy to get tested for GBS. TB -
Its good to see this test is now available privately. I am 18 weeks pregnant I had a result back as positive. This was on the NHS, I had a water infection and they found it in my urine. It is very scary though. Why on earth do they not do this as standard on the NHS. Krystal -
I just wanted to say thank you for making this test accesible to pregnant women. Unfortunately we lost our son Samuel to this dreadful infection on the 15th June. He was born asleep.I had never heard about GBS prior to this and neither have most women that I speak to. More needs to be done to raise peoples awareness. Please forward this onto the relevant magazine and I along with many others feels that the more publicity that surrounds this the better in raising awareness. c. constable -
